Businesses Vote in Favour of a Third Term for Ballymena BID
The ballot for the renewal of Ballymena Business Improvement District has now concluded. The ballot opened in mid October and closed at 5pm on Thursday 27 November 2025. The Returning Officer, Valerie Watts, Interim Chief Executive of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, formally received the result on Friday 28 November 2025.
The independent scrutineer, Civica Election Services, has confirmed that the proposal to continue Ballymena BID for a further five-year term has been approved. Both statutory requirements for a successful BID ballot were met. This includes a majority in favour by the number of business ratepayers who voted and a majority in favour by the total aggregate rateable value of those who voted. Minimum turnout thresholds were also achieved.
