Ballymena Town Centre Gift Card is now live. If you run a Business in Ballymena Town Centre, you don’t want to miss out on being able to accept it as a form of payment in store. Further information on the card is detailed below.

What is the Ballymena Gift Card
The Ballymena Gift Card is a Town and City Gift Card which is a prepaid Private Label MasterCard. The Card comes in 2 versions.
- A Physical Card which is accepted by swiping the card through the magstripe reader on your card terminal
- A Digital Card which is added to the customers Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay Wallet
The gift card will be locked to Ballymena Town Centre and the Ballymena BID Boundary meaning all spend will be locked in the town.
There are no additional costs to accept the Gift Card, it’s charged at the same rate as a normal MasterCard Debit Card transaction. As the payment is a MasterCard transaction, you’ll receive the funds from your acquirer for the transaction as per your Merchant Acquirer Agreement.
How will customers purchase the gift card
Customers will be able to purchase the gift card in two locations within the town centre Fairhill & Tower Centre, and online. The card can be spent throughout the town in businesses that register to accept.

In order to accept the Gift Card, you will need to process a declined transaction through your card terminal. This enables us to pick up your Merchant ID and add it to a list of approved Merchant IDs. You do not need to install any software or additional hardware to accept the Gift Card.
When processing the declined transaction, you may be asked to enter the address the card details provided are associated with. Please use 13 Rose Terrace, Perth, PH1 5HA.
When you register your business will be advertised on our gift card website within 1 week of completion of registration.

When will the gift card launch:
The Gift Card will launch the 1st week in November and will be supported by a full marketing campaign. Further information will follow once you complete the registration process which will take NO MORE than 10 minutes.

Please note Ballymena BID limited reserves the right to remove you from the programme following misuse or if you have failed to pay your BID Levy invoice which comes from Mid and East Antrim Borough Council annually.
