Elite Lighting & Interiors Celebrates 25 Bright Years in Ballymena
A much-loved Ballymena business is marking a major milestone, as Elite Lighting & Interiors celebrates an incredible 25 years at the heart of the town.
Located on Church Street, Elite Lighting & Interiors has become a go-to destination for customers across Northern Ireland, with one of the largest lighting showrooms in the country. From eye-catching chandeliers to everyday essentials, alongside the ever-popular Laura Ashley collection, there’s something to suit every home and style.
Over the years, the business has grown far beyond lighting. Today, customers can also browse a wide range of dining tables, sofas and beds, along with home accessories, mirrors, giftware, garden furniture, and outdoor lighting, making it a real one-stop shop for interiors.
At the centre of it all is a friendly, knowledgeable team who take pride in helping customers find just the right fit for their home.
The business was founded in Easter 2001 by Angela Ritchie and Colin Gordon, combining their experience and shared ambition to create something special in Ballymena. Colin, who had been working with Michelin while running a small electrical wholesale business on the side, decided to take the leap — while Angela brought valuable experience from both the civil service and hospitality sectors.
Starting out on Greenvale Street, the business quickly grew in popularity. Within months, it became clear that more space was needed, leading to a move to Broughshane Street later that same year, followed by further expansion into the neighbouring unit.
After many successful years there, Angela and Colin made the move to their current premises on Church Street in 2018, investing in a larger, more modern space to support the continued growth of the business.
Angela said:
“We’re so proud to be celebrating 25 years in Ballymena. The support we’ve had from our customers over the years has meant everything to us.
“When we moved to Church Street, it allowed us to really develop the business further. We now have improved facilities, including a lift and customer parking, and we’ve been able to expand our range beyond lighting into furniture and home accessories.”
She added:
“We’re also incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team. One of our staff members, Stevie, has been with us from the very beginning, and every member of the team brings experience, knowledge and, of course, a friendly welcome for our customers.”
Today, the showroom is a bright and inspiring space, helping customers create homes they love, whether they’re building, renovating, updating a room, or searching for the perfect gift.
To celebrate the milestone, Elite Lighting & Interiors is inviting customers old and new to join them, with a special anniversary sale running from April 2 to April 11.
Visitors can explore everything from practical downlights to statement chandeliers, while those building or renovating are encouraged to call in and speak to the team for expert advice.
A new and improved website has also recently launched, making it even easier to browse their extensive range.
After 25 years, Elite Lighting & Interiors continues to shine as a proud part of Ballymena’s town centre, with plenty more to come.
